Tips To Grill Like A Pro 1

Making a perfect dish is all about the ingredients and the way of cooking, and to grill like a pro, you need to do a lot of practice. The level of heat, spices, and ingredients are all to be cared for for delicious food. Also, be cautious when oiling anything you cook over the fire because when the oil drops, it ignites furiously, and you can have black meat that does not even look and taste good.

Grill Like A Pro

Below are some tips for grilling like a pro:

1) Choose between gas or charcoal: Cooking over gas or cooking over charcoal are two entirely different things. Grilling over gas is an easier and faster process. But you cannot expect a smoky flavor when grilling over gas.

On the other hand, grilling over charcoal takes a little bit longer compared to gas. Using charcoal gives you a smoky flavor, which some people love. Also, not everything you cook also needs such intense heat, but it provides better flavor. Therefore choose between gas or charcoal as per your convenience and taste.

2) Begin with a clean grill: The first and foremost step is to clean your grill thoroughly. A messy grill can spoil your mood and taste, so make sure to clean your grill before you start cooking.

If you do not clean your grill, you might face many troubles in the cooking process, like grease getting stuck to the grill’s sides. The grease trap can catch fire easily. Therefore, it is always advised to clean your grills as it allows better heat transfer, prevents fires, and makes your grilling experience delightful.

3) Heat your grill before you start: Many of us start grilling at the last moment though it is always recommended to heat your grill before you start. But not everything you cook requires the grill to be super hot. If you do not begin with a hot grill, you will not get the sear or the marks you may seek.

Also, do remember when you add ingredients to the grill, they will absorb some of the heat and cool down the grill. So, the safest way to prevent this from happening is to start with a hot grill.

4) To control the heat, create zones: No matter whether you use a cheap charcoal grill or stainless steel gas grill, creating a 2-zone setup when grilling is advised. All you have to do is set your grill to have a hot side for direct radiating heat and a less desirable side for indirect convection heat.

It depends on what you are cooking, although you may start from the direct heat side for a fast sear and then finish cooking indirectly.

5) Prepare your ingredients: Prepare your ingredients before grilling. Gather all the spices, mixes, and whatever you require per your taste and preferences. Once you have all the ingredients by your side, you are all set to grill.
